(Pierre) - James Janisch of Eden today claimed the $200,000 Powerball prize he won in Wednesday night’s drawing.
While Janisch’s ticket missed winning the jackpot, it beat the 1:5,138,133 odds to win the game’s second prize for matching the five white balls, but not the red Powerball.
The winning “quick pick” ticket was sold at Cliff’s 1 Stop in Britton. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
This is the second time in less than a month that the game’s second prize was won in South Dakota. Toni Smith of Custer won the $200,000 prize in the January 17th drawing.
The estimated jackpot for the next drawing on Saturday, February 14th is $92 million.
Powerball is played in 30 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1:195,249,054.
