$200,000 Powerball Prize Won in South Dakota

(PIERRE) - A Powerball ticket sold in Watertown is worth $200,000 following the March 17, 2010 drawing. The lucky ticket matched the five white balls but not the red Powerball number to win the game's second prize. It is the first time this year the prize has been won in South Dakota.

The winning Powerball numbers for the March 17, 2010 drawing are: 24, 26, 25, 28, and 55; the Powerball is 8 and the Power Play multiplier is 2.

Lottery director Norm Lingle said the ticket holder should sign the back of the ticket immediately, put it in a safe place, and contact the Sioux Falls Lottery office at 605-367-5840 or the Pierre Lottery office at 605-773-5770 to make arrangements to validate the ticket and claim the prize. The winner has 180 days to claim the prize.

There were also 11 $100 Powerball winners in South Dakota from the March 17, 2010 drawing.

Powerball is played in 41 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning the $200,000 prize are 1:5,138,133. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1:195,249,054.
