The holders of a Powerball ticket sold in Ohio that was one of two jackpot-winning tickets for a $96.9 million top prize in the June 23, 2010 drawing have stepped forward. William Shanteau of Curtice, OH and 13 other employees at a Michigan Chrysler plant claimed their prize June 28 at the Lottery office in Toledo. The group decided to take a lump-sum cash payment of about $25.1 million, meaning each member will get $1.2 million.
The other winning ticket for the Powerball jackpot was sold in Montana. Joseph Lamport, Jr. and Kim Claassen of Helena showed up at the Montana Lottery office in Helena late last week. The two work together as home health care providers and have played the Lottery together for two years.
Both the Ohio and Montana tickets matched all five numbers and the Powerball to win the jackpot. The Powerball jackpot for the June 29, 2010 drawing is $27 million.
