(Pierre, SD) – The South Dakota Lottery has $5,000 waiting for a lotto winner who purchased a Wild Card 2 ticket in January, and time is running out to claim it.
The ticket, sold at the Loaf ‘N Jug on Canyon Lake Drive in Rapid City, matched all five regular balls but not the Wild Card in the Jan. 16, 2010 drawing. The winning numbers were 10, 11, 18, 27, and 31; the Wild Card was the Ace of Diamonds.
Lottery executive director Norm Lingle says the prize will expire if it is not claimed by July 15, 2010.
“The holder of the winning ticket has just a few weeks left to claim the $5,000 so if you have any older Wild Card 2 tickets hanging on the refrigerator, stashed in your car, or tucked in your wallet, now’s the time to check them. If you find you have the winning ticket, be sure to sign the back of it and bring it in to a validation center as soon as possible,” Lingle said.
Lotto prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing and can be claimed at any of the three Lottery offices which are located in Pierre, Rapid City and Sioux Falls. If the prizes go unclaimed, state law requires the money to go back to players by funding prizes in subsequent lottery games.
