(Pierre) - Lenore Wiebel of Rapid City won the $89,786 Dakota Cash jackpot by matching all five numbers for the Wednesday, February 18 drawing.
Wiebel discovered she’d won late Friday afternoon when she stopped to buy groceries at the Safeway store on Mt. Rushmore Road where she purchased the "quick pick" ticket.
When the clerk checked the ticket, the message ‘pay at Lottery" on the terminal surprised Wiebel and everyone around her, too.
"I got pretty loud in Safeway. All the people in the checkout knew what I won," she said.
The store will receive a $4,489 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Dakota Cash is South Dakota’s very own lotto game, and is played only in South Dakota. Wiebel is the 86th player to win the jackpot since the game began in 1993.
