Agency Village man claims $55,149 Dakota Cash jackpot

For Immediate Release: 4/12/2004

(Pierre) - David Barse of Agency Village was happily surprised when he checked his Dakota Cash tickets on Saturday. When he stopped at Buck’s Cenex C-Store station in Peever, he discovered one of his tickets was the winner from the April 7 drawing worth $55,149.

"I was yelling and waving my arms," Barse said. "I couldn’t believe how much I’d won." Barse said he had gotten up Saturday morning and put on his Jeff Gordon shirt and was feeling lucky. He said he purchases two Dakota Cash tickets for each drawing using family birthdates as his numbers. "I always play the same numbers," he said. "In fact, I’ve already bought tickets for the next drawing with the same numbers."

Buck’s Cenex C-Store will receive a $2,757 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Barse is the 87th player to win the Dakota Cash top prize.
