For Immediate Release: 12/16/2010

A 64-year-old substitute teacher from Fort Mohave, AZ has claimed the $95.3 million Powerball jackpot from the Dec. 1, 2010 drawing.

Sheila Verke presented the winning ticket to the Arizona Lottery on Dec. 13, 2010 in Phoenix. Verke matched all five white ball numbers and the red Powerball to win the jackpot on a ticket she purchased at a Safeway store in Fort Mohave.

Verke chose the lump sum option and collected $49.9 million in prize money. She plans to quit her job and spend a portion of her winnings on an RV in which to tour the country.
