The jackpot for South Dakota's own lotto game, Dakota Cash, now sits at $372,000 for the next drawing on Jan. 29, 2011.
The last Dakota Cash jackpot winner was Jim Mulder of Flandreau, who pocketed $82,733 from the Sept. 4, 2010 drawing. The jackpot has continued to climb since that time. The largest jackpot ever won for the game was $460,469 on Nov. 23, 1994 when it was hit by Carla Poulson of Fort Pierre.
Dakota Cash is the only lotto game offered in South Dakota that is played and won only in the state. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1:324,632. Tickets cost just a dollar per play and individuals can play up to nine consecutive draws in advance. Dakota Cash drawings are held Wednesday and Saturday nights; tickets can be purchased up to 9:00 p.m. (CT)/8:00 p.m. (MT) on draw nights.
