(PIERRE) - The South Dakota Lottery has $10,000 waiting for a lotto winner who purchased a Powerball ticket last October, and time is running out to claim it.
The ticket, sold at Valley Liquor on Timmons Boulevard in Rapid City, matched four of five white ball numbers and the Powerball in the Oct. 23, 2010 drawing. The winning numbers were 2, 7, 16, 20 and 46; the Powerball was 34 and the Power Play was 4. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1:723,145.
The prize will expire if it is not claimed by April 21, 2011. Players are encouraged to check any older Powerball tickets they may still have in their possession and if they do find the winning ticket, sign the back of the ticket immediately and bring it in to a validation center as soom as possible.
Lotto prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing and can be claimed at any of the three Lottery offices/validation centers which are located in Pierre, Rapid City and Sioux Falls. If the prizes go unclaimed, state law requires the money to go back to players by funding prizes in subsequent lottery games.
