A pair of friends from southern Indiana on April 21, 2011 claimed their $221.7 million jackpot from the April 6, 2011 Powerball drawing.
Thirty-eight-year-old Todd Reardon of Jeffersonville and 32-year-old Darin Fox of Clarksville purchased the winning ticket at a Circle K convenience store in Clarksville. The two have been playing the lottery together for three years. They chose the lump sum payment of $111.7 million before taxes, meaning each will pocket about $40 million.
Reardon and Fox have both quit their welding jobs; they plan to use their winnings to take care of their families and indulge in their love of hunting. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1:195,249,054.
