Winners from Sioux Falls and Custer on April 3, 2012 claimed their $10,000 Mega Millions prizes from recent drawings.
Kari Johnson of Sioux Falls matched four of five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball in the March 23, 2012 drawing to take the game's $10,000 third prize. Jody Tennyson of Custer did the same in the March 30, 2012 drawing. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Mega Millions are 1:689,065.
Johnson's winning ticket was purchased at HyVee on South Marion Road in Sioux Falls while Tennyson bought hers at Big D Oil Company on Highway 16 West in Custer. Both retailers will receive $1,000 bonuses for selling winning tickets.
Mega Millions is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot currently sits at $12 million for the next drawing which is tonight, April 3, 2012.
