SOUTH DAKOTA LOTTERY CONTEST GUIDELINES

NASCAR The Chase February 23, 2026 – August 5, 2026

 

The South Dakota Lottery’s NASCAR The Chase second chance drawing is available to members of the South Dakota Lottery’s Players Club. South Dakotans may enter for a chance to win a South Dakota Lottery merchandise package, in addition to entry into Powerball’s NASCAR Powerball The Chase drawing.

These drawing guidelines have been prepared to ensure the prizes awarded for the promotion are determined as impartially and randomly as possible and that the integrity of the South Dakota Lottery is maintained at all times.

The Executive Director of the South Dakota Lottery reserves the right to change and supersede any outlined procedures to handle unforeseen circumstances.

Draw Dates:

  • March 23, 2026 (1 winner, 3 alternates)

  • April 23, 2026 (1 winner, 3 alternates)

  • May 23, 2026 (1 winner, 3 alternates)

  • June 23, 2026 (1 winner, 3 alternates)

  • July 23, 2026 (1 winner, 3 alternates)

  • August 5, 2026 (1 winner, 3 alternates)

 

Eligible Tickets:

The following non-winning draw tickets are eligible for entry.

  • Powerball

  • Mega Millions

  • Lotto America

  • Millionaire for Life

  • Dakota Cash

  • Lucky for Life

 

Prizes:

Five winners will receive a NASCAR Powerball South Dakota Lottery merchandise package and entry into another drawing to determine South Dakota’s semifinalist for the national promotion. Subsequent drawings in the national promotion will be conducted by Powerball. Powerball’s subsequent drawings will determine four national finalists who will receive a VIP Trip Experience and entry into a final drawing for $1 million.

GENERAL:

  • To be eligible for the drawing, the entrant must be 18 years or older.

  • The entrant must be a member of the South Dakota Lottery’s Players Club.

  • To become eligible for the drawing, players can enter non-winning, eligible tickets on the South Dakota Lottery’s Players Club website or mobile app.

  • Each non-winning ticket equates to one entry, regardless of number of plays, number of draws, add ons and price points.

  • The odds of an entrant being selected as a winner will be determined by the number of entries submitted.

  • The winners of the drawing will be determined at a publicly held drawing at the Pierre Lottery office in accordance with SDCL Chapter 42-7A, Lottery administrative rules, and these guidelines.

  • Winners will have 5 days from the date they are notified of their win to submit their confirmation information to receive their prize; should that deadline not be met, the prize will revert to the next alternate.

  • Winners of a previous drawing within the promotion are ineligible to win another South Dakota qualifying drawing as part of the NASCAR the Chase promotion.

  • By accepting their prizes, winners agree to allowing their names and town being published to the Players Club website as well as the South Dakota Lottery social media pages. By accepting their prize winners also agree to being interviewed about their win.

  • In the event that the South Dakota Lottery is unable to conduct the drawing, due to technological issues or other like circumstances, the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) has been authorized to perform the drawing in a back-up capacity, utilizing the procedures and processes contained in these guidelines.

  • If any technical issues affect the results of the draw, the Lottery reserves the right to re-conduct the draw.

 

METHOD OF PROCESSING ENTRIES

  • All entries must be entered either on the Lottery’s Players Club website or South Dakota Lottery mobile app

  • Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. central time the night before the draw date.

  • Data collected in the course of the promotion is stored on secure servers within a guarded limited access hosting facility and access to data is protected by a variety of security products. The Director of Security for the South Dakota Lottery has been made aware of these security procedures and has deemed them acceptable for the purposes of this drawing.

  • Internet entries are processed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from the date and time the promotion begins until the final deadline of the final drawing for which entries are eligible to be submitted. Each entry record contains a date stamp to indicate when it was submitted by the entrant.

  • Each entry will be validated by Lottery Security, if selected.

  • All entries are retained in the entry database for the duration of the promotion, regardless of whether or not they are selected in the drawing, to ensure that any entry cannot be submitted more than one time during the course of the promotion.

 

VIP TRIP EXPERIENCE

Four National (4) finalists may each bring one (1) guest for a full VIP experience in Homestead-Miami Speedway, Nov. 6-9, 2026.

Finalists will be treated to hotel accommodations, track hospitality, and exclusive track experiences which include:

  • NASCAR Championship Weekend Prize Pack (Approximate Value of$10,000)

  • Roundtrip coach airfare for finalist + one (1) guest to Miami, FL.

  • Hotel accommodations for finalist + one (1) guest–double occupancy

  • Two (2) Ally Pit Box at Homestead passes (includes food, beverages, and Infield Experience access) at Homestead-Miami Speedway for admission to:

    • NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Championship Race on Saturday, November7, 2026
    • NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race on Sunday, November8, 2026

  • Two (2) passes for VIP Experiences at Homestead-Miami Speedway during NASCAR Championship Weekend for Saturday, November7, 2026, and Sunday, November 8, 2026,including:

    • NASCAR Cup Series garage pass
    • NASCAR team hauler tour
    • MRN Radio booth tour
    • Pace car rides
    • Pre-Race attendance
    • Victory Lane access

  • Two (2) Official NASCAR Championship Weekend Event Programs

  • Two (2) Souvenir Gift Bags, each with a retail value of at least Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250)

  • All meals while in Florida

  • Ground transportation to and from airports, hotel, and activities in Florida.
