Sturgis Resident Wins $100,000 Top Prize
Donald Levi’s weekend turned into a memorable one when he became the South Dakota Lottery’s latest big winner!
The Sturgis resident won the final $100,000 top prize for the 50X scratch ticket. He purchased his ticket at the Corner Pantry in Sturgis.
Donald told the Lottery that the 50X ticket is one of his favorites because of the color scheme and the $100,000 prize that is now his. He scratched his winning ticket Sunday then confirmed on the Lottery’s mobile app that he indeed had the top prize.
“I play them and then I scan the ticket on my phone, and it tells me what I’ve got. I was excited. I couldn’t believe it,” Levi said. “I checked it a few times, so I had to be up all-night thinking about what I was going to do today.”
Levi noted that he hasn’t told anyone about his big win yet, but he plans on sharing the win with his children and giving back to the community.
“I will speak to a financial planner first, but I will pay off all of my bills,” Levi said. “Then I will give the rest to some charities and my kids.”
This is Donald’s first win of this magnitude, and he shared a piece of advice for his fellow players.
“The tickets are lucky. Go for it!”
